Refunds
If you officially withdraw from a course, refunds are made according to the schedule below. See the Bursar Services homepage or the IU South Bend academic calendar for refund dates for a specific semester. Check or e-check refunds will be mailed to your home address or sent to your bank account if you have set up direct deposit. Credit card refunds will be processed to card used for original payment. Be sure to keep your address current by using One.IU.
Students taking online courses who currently reside in a state other than Indiana may be subject to state-specific refund policies. Contact IUonline@iu.edu for state-specific online course refund policies.
Direct Deposit of Refunds
You can have your refund deposited directly into your personal checking or savings account and greatly reduce the time it takes to receive your refund. To arrange for direct deposit, log onto One.IU, then search “Direct Deposit of Bursar Refunds” and follow the step-by-step instructions.
