The Student Counseling Center is available to IU South Bend students via in-person or remote Zoom Health telecounseling services and support. We are here to help. Our services are confidential and HIPAA compliant.
Whether you are an established client, or new to the counseling process, please follow these few steps to ensure that we are able to connect with you.
1. To get started, please stop by the Student Counseling Center located in the Administration Building, Suite 175 for a brief individual consultation and screening during office hours, or call the Student Counseling Center at 574-520-4125 to speak with a counselor and proceed with a brief phone screening. Or you may leave a confidential voice mail and leave your name and contact information. It may take up to 48 hours (business-day) for a counselor to get back with you. *If you are experiencing a mental health emergency and need immediate crisis intervention, please call 911 or Memorial Epworth, at 574-647-8400.
2. You will be assigned a counselor depending on your times of availability, and your counselor will call you to schedule an in-person or remote Zoom Health telecounseling session. *If you have chosen Zoom telehealth counseling, the counselor will provide you, via email, with information on informed consent, rights and responsibilities, and also discuss how to be prepared to participate in the Zoom Health telecounseling process. Your confidentiality and privacy are of the utmost importance to us.
3. As always, there is no fee for our services. You simply need to be currently enrolled as an IU South Bend student, or IU Medical School South Bend Campus student.
The staff at the Student Counseling Center care about your well-being. Please be safe, and as always, remember that it is OK to ask for help!
