Indiana University South Bend offers special resources to seniors in high school who are incoming freshmen.
High school seniors may automatically qualify for admission-based scholarships and may also apply for additional scholarships through the Selective Scholarship Application. The application deadline is February 10 by 11:59 pm EST. To be considered for these scholarships students must meet the following general criteria in addition to the specific criteria listed for the different programs below:
All incoming students are also encouraged to apply for the General Scholarship Application due March 1st. Complete this early, the system will recommend more opportunities you can log in and apply to specifically; such as the Selective Scholarship Application! For maximum consideration of scholarships, complete & submit the FAFSA by March 1st.

Admission-Based Scholarships
Titan Awards
Indiana University South Bend is excited to offer the Titan Scholarship Award program to recognize outstanding graduating high school seniors (including early graduates) who will be earning an U.S. high school diploma.
The following Titan Awards are automatically offered to qualifying high school students when they are admitted to IU South Bend on or before March 1stfor the fall semester. Recipients will receive the highest Titan Award for which they qualify based on available funding. Titan Onsite Awards will be increased to a Titan Silver or Titan Gold Award when students are fully admitted to IU South Bend and meet the additional GPA outlined below. To accept this award, recipients will need to complete the Office of Admissions' confirmation process no later than May 1st.
A maximum annual Titan award of $1500 will automatically be offered to students accepted to IU South Bend with a GPA of 3.75 or higher.
A maximum annual Titan award of $750 will automatically be offered to students accepted to IU South Bend with a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
A $500 annual Titan award will automatically be offered to a student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher when they apply during a high school visit by IU South Bend admissions counselors. Students receiving this award will be reviewed and moved to a higher award amount if the additional GPA criterion is met as outlined above.
Titan awards are automatically renewable for an additional three years when a student meets the below qualifications in the academic year:
minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA
enroll full-time each fall and spring term
complete 30 credit hours toward their degree; repeat courses are not included in the 30-credit hour total
Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Honors Program
Students receiving admission to the Honors Program at IU South Bend are automatically considered for the $500 Honors Initial Scholarship. Students reaching a 3.5 cumulative high school GPA or higher are candidates for the prestigious Honors Program and scholarship. The scholarship may be renewable for students meeting program requirements. To find out more about the program please visit the Honors Program website.
Selective Student Scholarships
This scholarship application is intended to identify outstanding high school seniors from Indiana and the greater Michiana region that plan to enroll as full-time students at the IU South Bend campus immediately after graduation during the Fall semester immediately following.
The application must be submitted by the deadline on February 10 by 11:59 pm EST.To be considered for these scholarships students must meet the following general criteria in addition to the specific criteria listed for the different programs below:
Have a completed IU South Bend admissions application on file.
Anticipated graduation from an accredited high school no later than June 30th.
Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (providing 6th or 7th semester grades).
Plan to enroll full-time at IU South Bend, beginning in the Fall semester.
NOTE: Some of these require an SAT / ACT score – see specific program criteria below.
Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (6th or 7th semester),
Minimum old math/reading SAT score of 1100 (or ACT equivalent) or minimum new SAT score of 1170 (Evidence- Based Reading and Writing and Math) and above, and
Be a legal resident of the state of Indiana.
Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (6th or 7th semester), and
Graduate from a public or private high school in Northern Indiana or Southern Michigan.
Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (6th or 7th semester), and
Demonstrate leadership potential
Minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA (6th or 7th semester),
Rank in the top 10% of their graduating class, and
Preference will be given to economically disadvantaged students with leadership potential.
Students should apply online via the IU Scholarships tile within their One.iu.edu account. After logging in with IU credentials (red button in the middle of the page), students will first complete the General Application. Once this is complete, log back in and select the IUSB-Selective Student Scholarships Application. Applications must be marked submitted and letter of recommendation received by the deadline for consideration.
