Step 1: Finding an Internship
To get started on your search, set up an appointment to meet with the Office of Professional Engagement. This appointment will be an information session to discuss steps to search for an internship and/or connect you with tools to help you succeed.
Step 2: Registering an Internship
Once you have completed your internship search and secured a position, set up an appointment to meet with the Office of Professional Engagement or your Faculty Internship Coordinator to register for your internship. You will need to know the name of the employer, position title, start date/end date, and supervisor’s name and email. You will work with your Academic Adviser to determine how a for-credit internship will fit into your degree plan.
Step 3: During the Internship
Once you have started your internship, you will need to record the number of hours worked at your internship each week. Your Faculty Internship Coordinator will ensure you are meeting the minimum number of hours worked to earn credit. During your internship, you will typically be asked to submit your hours and a midterm and final self-evaluation of your internship experience.
