The 2019-2020 award winner of Staff Member/Administrator of the Year is Kara Werner-Sanders. Here are few things that the nominators had to say:
“Kara Werner-Sanders works as the head athletic trainer at IUSB and works with all aspects of student’s lives. Kara makes sure all the athletes are safe at practices, games, during their season and when they are not in season. Kara keeps them safe physically but also mentally. She helps athletes in difficult mental and personal times just as much as she helps them with their rehab and physical health. She listens when athletes need a friend and she gives advice to them when they need help with their school work or with personal issues. Kara only wants the best for not only her athletes but the entire coaching staff and the Student Activities Center as a whole. She works with the SAC student workers as well to make sure they are all trained in safety to the best of their abilities. Kara overall keeps everyone in the SAC safe and does it with a smile. Her positivity moves through the building wherever she goes. Her work is selfless and her goal every day is to make sure everyone is safe. She keeps a positive attitude and does everything she can to promote a safe and happy environment. She changes everyone’s attitude in the building. She does everything she can to create a positive and welcoming environment for everyone at IUSB.”
