The 2019-2020 award winner of Outstanding Student Organization of the Year is the Political Science Club. Here are few things that the nominators had to say:
“They have worked tirelessly to plan engaging, non-partisan discussions that not only allow their members to share their opinions on controversial topics but also increase their knowledge on the issue. From beliefs on abortion to capitalism vs. communism, the club has organized events that appeal to a wide range of students from different majors and walks of life. They have also partnered with other campus organizations and clubs to host debate watch parties, table for voter registration, and facilitate deliberative dialogues. They have given students a welcoming and accepting space to come together and discuss their views and learn without fear of judgement. They were also relentless in their pursuits to market the club and raise money for their events, and were recipients of a grant from the Women of IU. Without the political science club, many students would not have an outlet to discuss these turbulent and uncertain times in American politics. Their hard work and dedication to the student body makes them more than worthy of Outstanding Student Organization of the Year.”
