Physics and Astronomy
Welcome to Physics and Astronomy Department! The Department of Physics and Astronomy offers B.S. and B.A. degrees in physics, a minor in physics, and a variety of courses for non-majors in physics, astronomy, and geology. Students interested in pursuing an engineering degree can begin their studies at IU South Bend in this department. We are here to support you as you work towards your academic, personal, and professional goals!
Our faculty is made up of talented and dedicated teachers and scholars who value the close interaction with students and colleagues found at IU South Bend. Physics majors and other interested students have the opportunity to carry out research projects of their own design or participate in the ongoing research of the department's faculty.
Academic advising plays an important role in helping you take ownership of your college career. And our faculty advisors are here to help! Current students use the Student Appointment Scheduler on one.iu.edu to schedule an appointment with your assigned Advisor. If your advisor does not have appointment availability, email them.
