Norris Named Assistant Director – Athletics
Tom Norris was recently named assistant director of athletics for sports information and facilities at IU South Bend.
The announcement was made by Steve Bruce, executive director of athletics and activities on campus.
The Indianapolis native had been serving for the past year as the part-time athletic media relations coordinator at IU South Bend. Norris will be responsible for all aspects of media relations for the current varsity athletic programs as well as day-to-day operations of the Student Activities Center.
Prior to his move to South Bend, Norris spent a year as the interim sports information director at the University of Illinois Springfield of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and NCAA Division II. While at UIS, Norris was the primary member of the design team in the redesign of the UIS athletics website.
“I am thrilled to begin my new position in the IU South Bend athletic department,” Norris said. “I am confident that I can help bring Titan athletics to a new level in regards to media relations. I look forward to working with the coaches, student-athletes, and all the Titan supporters.”
Norris attended Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Ind., where he was a member of the Puma baseball team, and also earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education.
